Flats for users-Port of Rianxo
Flats for users-Port of Rianxo

Project
The port of Rianxo will provide 70 new storage areas for fishing equipment. The location for this is a large esplanade in the port area, located next to the urban centre of Rianxo, on the southern extension of its seafront.
The aim is therefore to complete the “coastal façade”. It is therefore about 4 buildings that constitute an orderly alignment facing the sea, which also have a clearly recognisable semi-industrial identity.
Within the limitations determined by the construction, this identity is supported by two particularly singular aspects. One of these is the way natural light is introduced into a storage area, for both functional and security reasons, must necessarily be enclosed. A cube of metal and glass located above the entrance to each department is both a skylight, an element of natural ventilation, and an identifier of each warehouse.
The other issue to be highlighted is the enclosure skin of the buildings. A galvanised steel “deployé” mesh enclosure has been built over a concrete block factory. The permeability of the deployé mesh, the separation with respect to the block and the difference in colour between the intense red block enclosure and the grey glaze of the metal mesh, allow a skin that changes its appearance according to the perspective and the incidence of light depending on the time of day or year.
